Chapel, Garden Room and outside
The Centering Prayer Group is hosting an in-person retreat on Tuesday, December 13th from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm at the GLC campus. The theme is “In the Beginning was the Word.” Please join us for all or any part of the day. The day includes periods of Centering Prayer, free time in silence, viewing of a Thomas Keating video, Towards Global Transformation: Reflections on John 1: 1-5, 16, harp meditation, chanting, and times for shared faith reflections. Masks will be required while indoors. Please bring your own lunch, your journal, and reading material. Coffee, water, and light refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Those who would like to continue the conversation will go out to dinner at a local restaurant following the retreat. The retreat schedule is: 9:30 am: Hospitality in the Garden Room 10:00 am : The Body Prayer, two periods of Centering Prayer with a walk in-between 11:00: Free time 11:45: Harp Meditation and a period of Centering Prayer 12:15: pm Lunch 1:00 pm: Viewing of Thomas Keating Video, Towards Global Transformation 1:30 pm Free Time 2:00 pm The Body Prayer, a period of Centering Prayer, Candle Lighting, and a reading of John’s Gospel 2:45 pm: Shared Faith Reflections 3:30: Conclusion of the retreat and clean up The weekly Centering Prayer Group, for those who cannot attend the in-person retreat, will also meet on zoom on December 13th from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, facilitated by Cherie Herrera.
