Our founding

On the First Sunday in Advent, November 27, 2005, our faith community was born. 


We share here some of the milestones along the way.


  • November 2005, First Liturgy at Mission Hills Methodist Church
  • March 2006, Articles of Incorporation approved
  • June 2006, Jane Via ordained as priest by Roman Catholic Women Priests
  • June 2006, First Baptism
  • September 2006, Corporate Board established
  • December 2006, Community Council forms
  • August 2006, First Marriage
  • Spring 2008, First Communion Class
  • May 2009, change host church location to Gethsemane Lutheran Church
  • October 2009, Strategic Plan unveiled
  • July 2010, Nancy Corran ordained as priest by the Community
  • January 2017, Kori Pacyniak is hired as the new pastor of MMACC, marking the first time we hired someone from outside the community. 
  • October 2017, Jane Via is consecrated bishop of the Western Region of RCWP. 
  • June 2019, Kori Pacyniak ordained to the diaconate by Bishop Jane Via at MMACC. 
  • February 2020, Kori Pacyniak is ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Jane Via and Bishop Suz Thiel at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in San Diego. Kori was also featured in a New Yorker article about women and non-binary people called to ordination.
  • March 2020, Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, MMACC begins worshipping exclusively online. 
  • November 2020, MMACC celebrates our 15th anniversary with an online gala, dinner, and celebratory mass.

  • Tenth anniversary celebration

    In 2015, we celebrated our tenth anniversary as a community. You can watch highlights from our fall fest celebration as well as our anniversary liturgy below. We look forward to our 15th anniversary celebration in 2020!
